Stay on a Beautiful Rural Property While Helping Create Something Special

Are you a retired tradesperson, engineer, farmer, mechanic, handyman or practical problem-solver travelling Australia?

Rather than simply parking up somewhere, would you enjoy becoming part of an exciting rural property project for a few weeks while exploring Darwin and the Top End?

We're Kiley and Lawrence, and we're establishing Fly Free Farm, a peaceful 30-acre property at Fly Creek, just 45 minutes from Darwin.

We're looking for practical people or couples travelling in self-contained caravans, motorhomes or campers who enjoy keeping active, sharing their skills and tackling interesting projects.

Instead of asking for two hours every day, we work on approximately 10 hours per week, arranged flexibly by agreement.

Some weeks may be more, some less, depending on the projects and your travel plans.

Current Projects

We're looking for practical experience rather than qualifications.

Projects include:

Installing steel braces for our solar system
Installing stumps under shipping containers
Installing flooring in containers
Installing decking
Installing windows and doors
Container fit-outs
Welding and fabrication
Steelwork
Installing the septic system and drainage
Gardening, planting, grafting and helping establish our tropical orchard and helping in the vegetable gardens
Chainsaw work
Fencing
Building a verandah
General property improvements
